Shakyra Simpson-Thomas, MBA, MHCM, MUA
Shakyra is the owner and founder of LoveAngel Make-Up Artistry. She has had a passion for makeup for many years and decided to take her love for make-up and build it into a successful business.
Shakyra has worked with several people for various types of events. She's added excitement to special days, such as, weddings and proms, as well as, assisting in preparations for book signings and birthdays.
Shakyra is a graduate of Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelors of Art Degree in Law and Justice and became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She then moved forward and pursued a Master's of Business Administration, with a concentration in Organizational Psychology and Development and a Masters of Healthcare Management, both from American InterContinental University.
Shakyra was born and raised in New Jersey, but now resides in the Austin, Texas area, which is where LoveAngel Make-Up Artistry began to truly blossom. Having a fashion savvy mother, Lynn Simpson, Shakyra has always been engulfed in the world of fashion and beauty.
Shakyra has worked with many fabulous people, who have provided the foundation on which the growth of LoveAngel was formed. At the age of eight years old, Shakyra assisted her mentor, Kim Brown, who was the owner of NuVou Collections, in Neptune, New Jersey with running her business every Saturday from open to close, including vending at special events. By the age of 12, Shakyra owned her first business, Jingles Jewelry and Accessories, through a peer group entitled Teen Business Institute. While running a business and shopping for her merchandise in New York City, Shakyra gained an interest in fashion, which prompted her enrollment and completion of Barbizon modeling school in Red Bank, New Jersey, at the insistence of her grandmother, Wilhelmina Simpson.
Many years later, Shakyra put all of her past experiences into one passion, LoveAngel. She has a goal of growing LoveAngel into a business that has something for everyone. Stay tuned as the angel spreads her wings.
